CBO Grant Consultants wins contract to write State of Maryland Maternal Health Improvement Strategic Plan

CBO Grant Consultants was recently awarded a contract in May 2021 to write the State of Maryland Maternal Health Improvement Strategic Plan.

Maryland is one of nine states in the country to receive a five-year federal grant from the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) to fund the Maternal Health Innovation Program. The program in Maryland, called MDMOM, aims to improve maternal health across the state by coordinating innovation in three areas: maternal health data; hospital and community-based service delivery; and training and resource availability. MDMOM is a collaboration among Johns Hopkins University, Maryland Department of Health, Maryland Patient Safety Center, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

The Maternal Health Improvement Task Force is a part of the MDMOM Initiative and is led and chaired by the Maryland Department of Health.  The Task Force, which first met in 2019, is responsible for developing a statewide strategic plan for improving maternal health by addressing racial disparities and leveraging existing resources.
